Q: How do I schedule my Road Test?

There is a $105 fee that must be paid at the time of scheduling. 

Q: When are Road Tests conducted?

A: Road Tests can be conducted 7 days per week, but must be during daylight hours. Tests cannot be conducted in the dark. Amy will let you know when there is a certified instructor available when she contacts you after you complete the form above. 

Q: Where are the Road Tests conducted?

A: All Road Test routes are approved by the Secretary of State and will begin at Amy’s Driving School. We are able to offer home pick up for Road Tests. Parents must come to Amy’s with their student and sign a waiver 

Q: Am I eligible to take my Road Test at Amy’s?

A: Students are eligible to take their test if they meet the following criteria:

• Passed Final Written Exam in class with an 80% or better
• Passed Final Driving Exam in the car on Lesson 6 on the first try
• Finished the program in 9 months
• Did not have 3 or more “no show” driving lessons

Q: What if I didn’t take classes at Amy’s?

A: You can still do your Road Test, but there is an additional $25 fee since Amy will need to get additional paperwork, with your help, from your school confirming your eligibility

Q: If I do my Road Test with Amy’s, do I still need to go to the DMV?

A: Yes, you will still need to go to the DMV to get your license printed. Amy’s will complete the road test only. Under most circumstances, you will then just go to the DMV to get your picture and be done. There is a small chance (<10%) that the DMV will retest you on the road to ensure that Amy’s is doing their job. 

Q: What if I don’t pass my Road Test with Amy’s?

A: Amy’s is only able to test students once. If you do not pass, we are not able to offer a retest and you must retest at the DMV. 

Q: Do I have to wait until I’m 16?

A: You are able to take your Road Test with Amy’s prior to turning 16, but you must wait until you are 16 to go to the DMV for your picture and license.

Q: What if I’m over 18?

A: The DMV only allows us to test students under age 18. Adults must test at the DMV.

Q: What about refunds?

A: There is no option of a refund for Road Tests. 

• If you do not pass the Road Test, there is no refund available. 
• If the DMV chooses your student to retest, there is no refund available. 
• You must be on time (within 10 minutes of your appointment). If you miss your appointment, there is no option for a refund. Depending on availability, you may be offered a chance to reschedule, with an additional fee of $55
